Debut Dagger (almost) triumph!

This historical novel set in late sixteenth century Orkney transports readers to a very different, violent world. Breathtaking and skillfully written.

I am so behind on book reviews – fifteen at the last count! And this is one of the reasons…

A few months ago, my work in progress novel was shortlisted for the CWA Debut Dagger prize and I was lucky enough to sign with a brilliant literary agent. Under pressure from nobody but myself, I set massive word count targets so I could get it finished and take advantage of the amazing opportunity.

In the end, The Spae-Wife was highly commended at the CWA Daggers ceremony, and received some wonderful comments from the judges. And, best of all, I got a draft finished and off to my agent on Friday. So, now I can breathe, see my family occasionally and maybe even start to catch up with book reviews.

Thank you so much for bearing with me! Watch this space for reviews of the crackers I’ve been reading recently. And maybe even more news of my own book one day!
